Luke Campbell Continues to Impress in Philly with a Knockout Win

Lightweight Luke Campbell (20-2-0 16 KOs) knocked out Adrian Young (26-6-2 20 KOs) in the 5th round after a beating. The scheduled 10 round contest ended when Campbell mercifully stopped the fight at Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, PA.
Campbell finished the fight with a impactful straight left to the chin in the 5th round. The set up work before the stoppage was beautiful as Campbell continued to gain an advantage over the course of the fight. The blow forced the referee to stop the match.
That left cross. Yikes. Admittedly, I haven’t seen much of Campbell (other than his bout with Linares of course) before this and it was impressive. I love that he stayed committed to the body though. I started the video early enough for you to see the left hook to the body as Campbell was retreating. While the straight left set up the finishing flurry, that body shot did a ton of work
A good win but an expected one for Campbell. The 16th knockout of Campbell’s career improves his record to 20-2-0. Young’s record stands at 26-6-2.
